Carmeuse, a global leader in lime and limestone solutions, understands the importance of engaging and fostering a sense of community among its employees. In pursuit of this goal we together embarked on their second collaborative journey with our holistic wellbeing platform atlasGO, to organize the “Small Steps, Big Impact” Challenge. The Challenge aimed to promote physical well-being, support local charities, and enhance team cohesion across the European workforce.
The Challenge: Small Steps, Big Impact
Carmeuse’s “Small Steps, Big Impact” Challenge virtual sports Challenge went for nearly two Summer months. Employees were invited to participate in activities such as running, biking, walking, and swimming. Beyond employee engagement, the primary objectives of the Challenge was to promote physical well-being, and to support local charities that resonated with Carmeuse’s core values.
The Challenge was divided into four separate regional Challenges, each corresponding to a specific geographic area in Europe. Each of the four regional challenges was associated with a specific local cause, and its commitment to the Carmeuse Foundation’s mission. The Carmeuse Foundation aims to provide underprivileged children with opportunities for education, training, and assistance to improve their chances of success in life.
One noteworthy feature of the Challenge was the cross-regional collaboration aspect. If one region completed its Challenge before others, participants had the opportunity to join ongoing Challenges in other regions, fostering teamwork and helping their colleagues achieve their goals.
Positive Outcomes and Impact
The “Small Steps, Big Impact” Challenge garnered overwhelmingly positive feedback and participation from Carmeuse employees:
- A total of 140 participants
- Over 2,000 activities logged on the atlasGO app.
- More than 170 photos shared on the atlasGO feed, showcasing employee participation.
- An impressive 1,200 virtual high-fives exchanged among employees on the app, reinforcing camaraderie.
One standout aspect of the Challenge was the sense of community it fostered during the holiday season. Employees actively shared holiday moments, further strengthening the company culture and creating a deeper sense of cohesion among the teams.
