Why you should bring your employees together

Nowadays, company culture is a key factor in achieving long-term success in any organization. It can be difficult to create a team atmosphere when your employees don’t have any experiences together or any connection. By bringing your employees together, you increase the chances of creating a more open environment and bringing creativity to the company. Employee connection also forms new perspectives, boosts productivity, and most importantly, makes work fun for everyone! As stated by Shawn Achor, author of “The Happiness Advantage”, research shows that social connection reduces stress and is the greatest predictor of happiness.

Now, the question is, how can I bring my employees together?

 

There are actually so many ways you can do so. To start off small, have weekly meetings. The whole purpose of weekly meetings is to come together and to be able to track your company’s progress. But, in order to hold a thriving meeting, all employees should feel excited to participate. Let your employees discuss how they feel or what they did over the weekend to ease any tension and stress while also giving your employees the opportunity to feel more comfortable with each other. For example, at atlasGO, we have our employees go around and say “red” if they’re doing bad, “yellow” if they’re doing okay, and “green” if they’re doing good. 

 

Workplace Wellness

 

Another important way you can bring your employees together is by promoting workplace wellness! According to the Wall Street Journal, healthier employees are more productive, happier, and less stressed. Providing health programs such as lunch-time yoga or running activities can form connections and increase employee engagement. Also, by showing your employees you care about their health, you make them feel more valuable and wanted in the company.
