Following their first successful atlasGO challenge in 2021, Sodexo Belgium once again made employee well-being a priority by carrying out another atlasGO team-building challenge in 2022. Le rôle de Sodexo’s goal for both of their challenges was to encourage their employees to get active, in turn increasing their well-being and promoting employee engagement.
This year, Sodexo encouraged their employees to sweat more than they did last year!
With a focus on keeping their employees healthy and connected, the activities their employees got to choose from included biking, running, walking, swimming, and other sports options. Encouraging physical activities gave Sodexo’s employees the opportunity to build lasting healthy habits.
According to the CDC, physical activity is one of the most important activities you can do for your health. In fact, it has been shown to improve cognitive performance, reduce risk of disease, and help strengthen your bones and muscles.
Upon completion of the physical activities, Sodexo’s employees collected blue emoji hearts, each heart contributing to the overall challenge goal. Over the span of 30 days, Sodexo’s employees collected 116,733 cœurs, each heart symbolizing the team’s flourishing health and wellness.
Team-building challenges, just like the one Sodexo put together, have been shown to increase employee engagement in the workplace. Decades of recherches points to the benefits of a highly engaged workforce, specifically indicating a 21% increase in profitability for the business.
One survey found 96% of employees who participated in team-building exercises felt their relationship with their colleagues improved afterwards. 94% of those employees also agreed the team-building exercises enhanced the relationship with their employer.
atlasGO allows challenge participants to exchange virtual high-fives, share the activities they’ve completed, fun photos, and more! The virtual leaderboards and challenge stats are available for all participants to see, fostering friendly competition and promoting employee engagement.
A huge success, Sodexo’s Team Challenge 2022 brought together 229 participants throughout 43 different atlasGO teams to share almost 5 000 activités and nearly 760 photos entre eux.
“Thanks to atlasGO, Sodexo employees were able to come together around the same objective for a month, improving their well-being and strengthening team spirit. We are delighted with the success,” Melissa Pantano, Communications Coordinator with Sodexo said.
