Tree Challenge: Employees plant trees when they walk, meditate, or cook!

juni 11, 2023 |

Did you know that your employees have the opportunity to unlock real trees that are planted by engaging in healthy activities? We strongly believe that personal wellbeing and environmental sustainability are closely interconnected. That’s why we offer corporate tree planting challenges to promote this harmony.

Hoe werkt het?

For employees, tracking and engaging in challenges is effortless with the teroGO app.

Our user friendly platform empowers employees to utilize their everyday actions, such as walking, meditating, or cooking, to contribute to the planting of actual trees.

As employees accumulate completed activities, they can witness the tangible results of their efforts on the status bar of your company’s tree challenge goal, displayed each day.

The gamified teroGO application supports various features such as photo sharing to a dedicated feed, virtual high-fives and comments, and the ability to compete as individuals or with teams.

Why a tree challenge?

“Trees help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink and provide habitat to over 80% of the world’s terrestrial biodiversity. Forests provide jobs to over 1.6 billion people, absorb harmful carbon from the atmosphere, and are key ingredients in 25% of all medicines.” – One Tree Planted.

We believe that planting trees only is the start of what needs to happen to work on destructive forces such as climate change, growing inequality, and global conflicts.

How to Support an Environmental Cause with Your Employees

Check out some facts about the forests and how important they are for any species inhabiting our beautiful planet:

•The largest area of forest in the tropics remains the Amazon Basin, amounting to 81.5 million acres.

•The Amazon forest produces about 20% of the Earth’s oxygen.

•More than 25% of the medicines we use originate in rainforest plants.

•As of today, more than 300 million people still live in a forest.

•Forests cover 30% or about 4 billion hectares of the Earth’s land.

•70% of all animals live in our forests.

•“Forest Therapy” is a common therapy in Japan to fight depression and anxiety.

•A more unfortunate fact is that about 80% of the Earth’s original forests have been cleared or destroyed.
