Engage your donors with teroGO
To allow more young people to participate in our sports activities, we have created a Community Challenge in the teroGO app. Thanks to that, we have a bigger reach outside of Belgium, so not only are we spreading our message, but we are also getting more people involved with our mission. Together we can break social and cultural barriers through sport.
Breaking socio-cultural barriers
The non-profit association “Belgium Play 4 Peace” aims to break social and cultural barriers through sport for all. Sheltered for two years under the High Patronage of the King, the association has set up a program of sports activities and a development-discovery program (conferences, inspiration talks, training, and school remediation) that will have a strong impact on young people throughout the year.
The Play 4 Peace House
The Play 4 Peace House was set up following the identification of the lack of space for meeting and sharing for young people aged 8 to 25 years old in Brussels. It would be a place where everyone could share and discuss topics relevant to them. This space will allow them to develop their projects and ideas in the Play 4 Peace House while enjoying exercise. The lack of sports activities and free cultural outings are also among the motivations that inspired the creation of this house.
Play 4 Peace’s project
The project consists of two pillars:
1. Socio-sports activities such as Rugby4Peace (organized in the IPPJ), Boxe4Peace (intergenerational sport), the Football4Peace, and the Basket4Peace. These sports will be organized more than eight times per week and led by coaches and sports teachers.
2. Development-discovery program. This will allow young people to attend conferences, inspiration talks, school remediation, but also cultural outings and sporting activities.
The participants
Children and their families will be involved in these projects through intergenerational activities(such as Box4Peace) but also through family activities organized one to two Sundays a month. Supervised by organizers, children, and parents to develop the program of activities for the next month. The themes of the conferences and inspiration talks will be defined according to the interests of young people and parents. The purpose is to get them involved as much as possible.
