In May 2021, Belfius decided to team up with atlasGO to engage their employees in honor of the Special Olympics Belgium.
Let’s Move Together Challenge
Belfius has been supporting the Special Olympics Belgium for years and, this year, decided to spice it up by engaging their employees in a fun challenge!
The company-wide challenge, “Let’s move together,” brought more than 1,330 employees based in Belgium to support the Special Olympics Belgium. Participants logged over 16,000 activities and shared 2,136 sweaty selfies with over 8,000 supportive high-fives and 225 motivating comments.
Over the span of 27 days, from May 8th to June 12th, Belfius’ employees accumulated a grand total of 215,330.41 kilometers with activities like running, walking, biking, and rowing; traveling a distance of about 5.5 times around Earth. At the end of the challenge, Belfius donated 10,000€ to the Special Olympics Belgium.
Additionally, the photos shared on the atlasGO mobile app engaged employees further by getting to know each other outside of the work environment.
The extra mile
Belfius decided to reward their employees with unique categories of prizes like the most beautiful photo, the photo with the most high-fives, the best team performance, and the team that has done the most activities together. With prizes and competition, the challenge drove tremendous engagement in Belfius.

A huge boost of energy and fun among Belfius employees and support for Special Olympics athletes. A reciprocal emulation that resulted in 132,000 km traveled by more than 1,300 colleagues and a nice check to the Special Olympics Belgium that we have supported for years.”, said Camille Gillon, Chief Human Resources Manager at Belfius.
