Agosto 12, 2020 |

We are proud to announce the newest addition to our #GO4Trees mission that began on the 1st of this month. For this #GO4Trees Planting Positivity challenge, we have increased our goal to an amazing 50,000 trees! In just a couple of weeks, we have surpassed the 4,000 marks.

Thanks to our team of almost 1000 and growing sweaty changemakers and almost 20,000 miles logged, we are working our way towards the goal one step at a time. Join the challenge today and get healthy at the same time. To sign up and for more information on the virtual event, visit the challenge dashboard.

About the Challenge

For this challenge, we focus our efforts on African soil, with helping farmers plant 50,000 trees for agricultural regeneration as the main objective.

We have partnered with Trees for the Future. They are a non-profit organization that has taken it upon themselves to target and solve land degradation through planting trees. One tree is planted for every 4 miles you log, taking the community one step further into reaching our ambitious goal.

For those who aren’t a fan of running, hiking, or the like, we also offer more stationary options such as yoga, meditation, and even gardening! These activities are calculated in this way: every hour spent on your hobby accounts for one tree planted.

In Support of Trees for the Future

Trees for the Future is a non-profit organization that believes in helping the world’s population from its roots. We depend on farmers for basic survival and the production of livestock and crops for consumption. Unfortunately, due to the excessive loss of trees, many farmed lands do not yield crops the way they used to.

In order to revitalize these damaged lands, we need to balance out our need for consumption with the well-being of the ecosystem. Land degradation has not only devastated many parts of Africa but also South America and Southeast Asia, leaving millions hungry and impoverished.

The solution is to help farmers revitalize their lands over a period of 4 years, and that’s the mission of Trees for the Future. Planting trees can help regenerate the damaged soil and bring nutrients back into the ground.

teroGO is proud to be working with Trees for the Future and supporting their efforts to revive and regenerate the damaged lands.

The Benefits of Planting Trees with This Campaign

Not only does planting trees have an advantageous effect globally, but locally as well. They play a crucial part in increasing local farmers’ income permanently. Trees planted can help diversify their products and to increase output every month of every year.

Once the output has been diversified, it prevents and reduces the financial risks accumulated by environmental factors such as droughts and floods.

Trees planted on farmlands produce fruits and other edible products, and they also double to yield lumber and food to feed the farmer’s family, therefore decreasing expenses.

Through the planting of more trees, we will see increased financial stability for the farmers and a favorable impact on the environment as a whole. This is why we will be planting positivity with this challenge!
