Increase employee wellbeing with these simple steps

Employee well-being is the lowest it’s been in a decade…here’s why.

An alarming new report shows the number of employees who feel their employer cares about their well-being is at the lowest it has been in almost a decade.

Since 2020, there has been a sharp decline in the way workers perceive their employer to care about their well-being. As an organization, acknowledging and addressing this issue is crucial in order to retain a healthy, productive workforce.

When surveyed, workers who felt their employer did care about their overall well-being were:

• 69% less likely to search for a new job

• 71% less likely to report experiencing excess amounts of burnout

• Five times more likely to advocate for their company as a place to work

• Three times more likely to be engaged at work

Investing in the well-being of your employees is one of the best decisions you can make for your business.

How can you show your employees you care?

Encourage your employees to get active

In the world of remote and hybrid work, it’s easy for employees to stay cooped up in their space. There’s research that shows exercise improves cognitive performance, memory, and concentration. Encourage your employees to take breaks during the work day to move their feet, it will benefit your business just as much as it benefits them!

Acknowledge when your employees have done a good job

Sometimes it’s the simple things that make the biggest difference. Studies have found that when gratitude and positivity are expressed to employees, this results in enhanced productivity.

When you notice your employees are working hard, be sure to let them know!

Organize team-building activities

Team-building is one of the most important investments you can make for your employees. It helps your team build better relationships with each other, promoting engagement and enhanced communication among other benefits. In fact, there is even research that points out the correlation between team-building activities and higher workplace satisfaction.
