On the 21st of May 2017 we launched Atlas in Belgium. Since then thousands of runners joined the app raising more than 25,000€ for non-profits in Europe
Atlas is a running and social media app that raises money and awareness for local non-profits. Thanks to the support of corporate sponsors every Km you walk or run raises between 0.25€-1€ for a cause.
Similar to a standard running app, Atlas measures your activity through the GPS tracking of your phone. With every step you take you raise money for a local non-profit. The more you run, the more you raise. Here are a couple of the European challenges ran by the Atlas community since May.
The first challenge launched on the app in Europe, supports the Fonds Emilie Leus. We partnered with Hoegaarden 0,0% to raise funds and awareness against drunk driving. Here you can see Martin and Stephanie raising funds during the 20 Km of Brussels. Since then they ran 186 Km for various causes using the Atlas app. A week later we launched a challenge in support of Jules Hermant and his family. 382 runners joined forces to help raise awareness for the rare disease affecting “petit Jules”.
We wanted to support Jules in his daily fight against
l’amyotrophie spinale de type 1 but also develop an Atlas challenge to bring awareness to his disease that strikes young children every year. This disease is so cruel and yet so little known! says Thomas Hermant
Next, we partnered with Swiss Re Foundation to fight youth unemployment in Switzerland with Fondation IPT. Together we raised 10,000CHF in a couple months. Another reason to enjoy the Swiss Alps! ? During the summer we partnered with the Degroof Petercam Foundation. They challenged their employees from Belgium, France and Spain to run for projects supported by the foundation. Together they raised funds to: promote youth empowerment with LGU Academy, access coding school with BeCode, fight discrimination with Mozaik RH & promote entrepreneurship with Netmentora.
Thanks to Atlas, our colleagues are discovering the projects supported by the Degroof Petercam Foundation. The ATLAS challenges we have created develop a great dynamic between the collaborators and the projects gain more visibility. Since the beginning the Atlas team is very available to coach us, to provide us with communication material or to answer the questions of our collaborators… It is certain, we will continue to work together in the future!
Over the span of 75 days Ralph Mesquita ran two marathons EVERY day! From Norway to Spain, Ralph’s world record “Eurocross for a cause” raised awareness for the European Childhood Obesity Group. Also every KM you ran with him raised 0.50€ for Ralph’s project sponsored by SkiTen. You can follow Ralph on Atlas: @ralph.
Last week we launched the first of 12 challenges with Mutualité Chrétienne. This first one raises funds to support disabled joggers. Hundreds of runners laced up their running shoes and faced the cold Belgian winter. ⛄️
From the flat lands of Belgium to the hills of San Francisco thousands of runners log in their miles every week for others. Join community of sweaty change-makers today and run for your local community! ?
